Well I had a finish!

Teresa Kogut’s
“Snowday Buddies”

And here is the backside

And…when you can’t sleep because your hip is bothering you - you get up at 4 am and finish it πŸ˜‚
This round ornament features:
(A LOT of stitching πŸ˜‚ I thought I’d bang it out in no time, Took 3 days) handmade triple color cording, a jaunty bow and a snowflake charm.
The snowflake charm was rustic prim, I painted it white.

Today a snowstorm is headed to Indiana…
It’s already very cold (28 degrees) and there is a Severe Winter Weather warning.
We have groceries - honestly I’m getting back on my eating plan today so groceries isn’t really needed - but we got ‘em!
I’ve partied enough with food over the last month.

I’m gonna scoot outside to get my sidewalk laps in this morning before snow comes. Do my PT exercises then head up to my recovery room and get into some stitching and Christmas movie watching.
We aren’t going to put up decorations for Christmas this year πŸ₯Ή because of my hip surgery recovery.
❤️ But Christmas is really in your heart and I try to keep it there all year long. ❤️

I want to thank those who have found me and leave/send such positive and encouraging words.
It soothes my heart and brings a smile to my face.
😊 thank you 😊

  1. What a beautiful ornament you stitched and finished for Cora, Vonna! Its solid stitching reminds me of those Prairie Schooler ornaments/smalls where I think I can crank them out quickly. Happy to hear you all are prepped for the impending storm! Your plan for the day sounds grand.

  4. Aaaww, What an absolutely adorable ornament for Miss Cora. Those are the best kind of ornaments. As for decorating for Christmas, you are right…it is in your heart and you have a big one. Besides, I know you have your crechΓ© up and that is what the season is all about. Thinking of you as you heal. Hugs my friend!

  5. Cora's ornament is beautiful. I love the rustic look.

Just think . . . since missing decorating this year, you are going to be in beast-mode NEXT year. Decorations will be popping out of every corner ...... you might even flow over into the neighbor's house. ;-)

  7. The ornament is so cute and I love the colour of the linen. It might even spur me on to stitch Christmas again, which I haven't for a while. Hope your hip continues to improve. My husband has had both his hips replaced in recent years and it's only this last month or so that I've stopped putting his socks on for him, but I did have to get down on the floor in a supermarket the other day (not easy when you're 74) and tie his shoelace. Happy days.

  9. Miss Cora's ornament is so sweet. Think of the memories she will have when she is all grown up and see her collection of Granny ornaments. I do very little in the way of decorating anymore and am seriously thinking of giving all the ornaments that have been on our tree over the years to my two grandchildren. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better each day. I am sure your Christmas will be lovely as you will have your family with you. No snow here but sleet and freezing rain are in the forecast for Tuesday. Stitching is the perfect way to spend a snowy day.

  11. Aww... Cora's ornament is just darling, Vonna! Love it--and I'm sure she will, too. I've been making my 5 year old grandson ornaments each year and need to make his 7 month old brother one this year--time to get busy :) Hope you're feeling stronger and stronger with each passing day!
