We are at WEEK 4 since my surgery!
Today I had PT, so of course I’m a little sore. But before each appointment they ask, where are you at pain level wise: 0-10. Today, I said: zero!
And it’s true. I mean I do have some general soreness still in my butt and back thigh region - sort of like a general ache, but no pain. Honestly, miraculous, after what it felt like just a month ago.
I try not to push myself, but if you have known me for any length of time, you know that is very hard for me. AND it is! 😂
My physical therapist told me I was doing outstanding, she added 3 more exercises, (one of them very hard), where I slide my leg up and then pull my knee to my chest 🥴
And I get to begin practicing walking up and down the stairs normally instead of step up, bring my other leg up, then step up, bring my other up. I get to start trying to go one leg each step, then stopping if it starts hurting.
I’m also walking at least 1/2 mile each day and adding more distance every 2 days.
For 4 weeks out…I’m thinking I’m doing good and it’s always good to have that validated by a professional.
We are hopping along here as you can see:
Hanging out with our friends…

ReplyDeleteSo glad you're doing so well. Working hard in your assigned rehab makes all the difference. Knowing you, I knew you'd be working hard. I have a friend who had a total hip replacement in late Oct. She's also very determined and walks with our group regularly and even hiked with us a couple of weeks ago. (Can you imagine the pressure on the rest of us to keep up with her?! lol!)
